Is it boring? I have optometry as an option among others if I go to a graduate school, but I am not sure.......

I am thinking it would be a flexible job to have if I have a family but I have my doubts.

Being an optometrist is a great job for a woman wanting to have a family. You can choose to work for someone and usually can pick your hours (just stay away from commercial optometrists) or you can start your own business and pick your own hours. (However you have the worries of having your own business, but sometimes outweighs working for someone else). You get the best of two world's being a business owner(if you want), and providing health care for individuals with eye conditions and diseases. Keep in mind optometrists do not just prescribe contact lenses and glasses. They also treat eye infections and trauma and manage diseases of the eye like glaucoma and diabetic eye diseases.

I will graduate from Optometry school in May and am so excited about my career as an optometrist.

The best answer, bluntly, is YES! Go for it. It is not boring or repetitive as each patient requires a different solution. This is where your education comes in and requires you to think which keeps you young.

When considering a profession, especially when you have choices, one of the things that you should consider is whether there will be a need for your education in the future. People will always have the need for an Optometrist. Also, you can move anywhere you wish to live and just set up shop.

Good luck.

As an RN I have a few friends that work at the hospital on call when there is a problem with someones eyes. They have stated that it is a very flexible job most of my friends have 2+ children. They are home every night, they make their own hours and just think every one has eyes and so many people wear glasses, contacts. It seems that it would be a stable career if you have a good following of patients. Good Luck

SL-66 toric lenses are MONTHLY disposables. But in some countries, because of climatic conditions and health regulations, the wearing time may be reduced or increased. About the prices, well its a competitive world. Every product sold has a high and a low price somewhere or the other. Just make sure that the cheaper ones are not old or expired lenses. Carry on with the lenses for the one month wearing time mode. Your eyes are absolutely safe.
