Ronan sounds like a last name or tribal.
Max sounds like a dog.
Monty well his middle name can be Python (the other kids will love that)
Tom is plain but at least more normal/average.
There are a couple things to remember about names....
1. That kids with odd names get messed with more in school (and younger life) & studies show have lower grade averages & poor social skills because of it.
2. Most people given the choice would prefer their name was something else. So when they are older will prolly not even like it.
If you want to come up with unique names that is fine but name your goldfish or puppy Lemonjello (yes it was on the news the first thing the mother saw was a box of lemon jello so named her kid it, pronouced Limongilo). Try to think about your kid & their feelings when branding them something for the rest of their life (and dont be thinking about you cuz it is not your name). Otherwise little Monty Python is going to get his azz beat a lot.

Ronan is the name of a very strong and independant character on the show Stargate: Atlantis (he's also really cute!)
Max reminds me of a dog...that's probably not an answer you want to hear, but I'm trying to be honest.
Monty...I'm thinking Monty Python and the Holy Grail, one of the funniest but Dumbest movies I've ever had the (dis)pleasure of watching...it's also a very grown up name for a little boy.
Tom, I think I'd use Thomas as a full name, but of course use Tom as a nickname. I like this name too, though I like Ronan better, Thomas is a good solid name, it means "A Twin" but sometimes the meaning of names is just silly, so I wouldn't make that matter too much.
btw, the name Ronan means "Little Seal", Max means "Greatest" (Maxwell means "Great Spring"), and Monty means "Of the Mountain" so maybe you shouldn't pay any attention at all to what the names mean...

"RONAN" (Conan, actually. The Barbarian!) HOO HAA, The Barbarian!
Max as "Max Headroom" or Mad Max.
Monty "PYTHON". Nudge, nudge. Wink, Wink. Or possibly; "SIR! This Parrot is DEAD"!
And as far as Tom goes, I agree with the others. It's kind of normal. Just don't name him Richard! My name is Richard. The nickname for Richard is "Dick".
