Ok, i have this friend and we've been best friends for almost a year now,but then we got placed into seprate classes and things are'nt the same anymore.I want to hang out with different people and she gets mad.And wheni do hang out with them i admit i ignore her and she always gets pissed off , and starts saying sarcastic things like"go ahead i dont care"if i'm already hanging out with her ,why does she say crap like that?and i lke her a lot because she's been a great friend and all,but i just cant take it anymore. yesterday,we got into a huge fight because i was avoiding her.then she has the guts to call me and siad you better chose who's friend you are because i'm tired of this.I got so mad i hung up on her,but i felt bad so i called her back and told her i would be her friend, but now i regret it,and it got to the point where i lied to her and said that i had to stay in at class at lunch, but i was really hanging with someone else,i did that just so i didnt have to hang w/ her help!!!

i am having THAT same problem but with my group. I found girls and guys more like me, that have my personatly and stuff and THEY get soo mad. And i'm like ARRG. SO i'm slowly like getting away from them, slowly and slowly, BUT i'm trying.

ANd if she said you have to choose, heck with her, a realy friend wouldnt make you choose. And like i try to get the point across to my friends that just b/c i'm not ALWAYS with you and dont sit with at lunch doesnt mean we arent friends, i still want to be friends with you i just CANT stand them anymore.

Good luck. =]

I had the same situation, those friends are called possesive friends. Meaning that they act as though they were your girlfriends. Haha, kinda like that movie Mean Girls. Anyway, well you should talk to your friend and tell her the truth. I know that the truth hurts. But the thing is that I did that and well we're not friends. I know that she was cool to be around and stuff, but I hated the fact that I couldn't talk to anyone else. She acted as though I revolved around her only. things are much better without her I am free to hang out with whomever I want and I dont have to be listening to the crap she mad up and stuff. I know how you feel, she puts words in your mouth right? Well all I can say is talk to her and tell her how things are now. That way she gets the hint. Oh by the way later on it's not like you girls will be BFF so don't feel bad ditching her for other friends. IT'S WORTH IT!! =)

This happened to me not too long ago. What you have to do is make it clear to her that you can have more than ONE best friend. Include her when you're hanging out with your other friends. If she doesn't want to and you make it apparent that you want her to, then it's her problem. She might be insecure about your relationship with her and that's what she's being clingy.

it sounds like you've outgrown your friend. too bad for her, but there must be something more in your life that you're after. go for it. you should still be able to have more than the one friend. tell her so, and if she doesn't think so, then you'll just have to let her pout and go on. i think she'll see how selfish she is and let you be you. maybe that will help her to get a life with more friends too. Good luck!

You aren't doing your friend any favors by lying to her. You need to live your life, and if that means her being your friend on your terms, then great. But if you are going to live your life doing things on other peoples terms just to make them happy, you' re going to end up making both of you miserable.

do her and you a favor and stay away.
it's not o.k to be that possessif over a friend
and they'll try to control you're life, give her
some space and soon she won't bother you.
