It turns back on you in the end, so its you who decide in the first place, but the word "lie" differs from one to another, what you could see a lie, I could see a truth, what you could see as never happened, I could see as reason to understand why the lie itself happened.
But being realist, is the shortest way to what you are going after

depends on the lie... a little one can be forgotten...but if you lied about practically everything in life...then I would say Yes.. to cover one lie you would have to lie again, thus creating a chain of lies you have to remember...then it would get to the point that the difference between the lie(s) & reality is fuccked up
