OK ..I AM TICKED....our channel 39..is talking only about the demos and repos and NOTHING.about our independents..they deserve the same ..althought they do not have the money to spend.in the tx vote for governor..the only ones that are not slandering eachother and spending money ..are the REAL TEXANS.and i do beleive .every state has AN INDEPENDENT .WHY is cbs talking.only about if the vote will go for the elephants/ or jacka--s...or the repos or the demos

OK....I AM ADDING a question about why..do not people and our media think about humanbeings.. that are in the race because they really care...i just saw on the news how the insurance rates will go up so much for all on the coast of fla..the SMALL business will leave and go ..why ..because the gov..and insurance has been paid off by big corp america..

Because third parties are considered unlikely candidates. It's rare that an independent does well. The major parties have a war chest from donations across the country they can stimulate their candidates with. Usually unless an independent starts out with strong support and wide popularity (like Sanders), especially when they've previously held office as one of the major parties (like Lieberman) they won't get noticed. Since they don't have significant amount of support, media does not spend a lot of time on them.

The reason few reporters talk about the chances of an Independent being elected is that the Independent's chance of being elected is slim, no matter the merits of the situation. An Independent candidate will usually win only if he/she has established immense popularity in another venue or arena.
