Do not call and tell a lie to get out of work. Believe me an employer knows when a lie is being told, they have heard many of them. I would call them early and see if they can find someone to work for you. Sometimes there are other employees who will gladly pick up the hours. But be prepared to work if there is no one to cover your shift. Do what is right.

You mean get out 'of' work tommorrow? You work on saturdays? Too bad, but how the f*$% should we know how you're supposed to get out of it? Call in sick? Quit? Your call, not ours.

say there was a sudden death in the family, or say u have to go to a wake/funeral...yes i know its horrible but it works!!!
