The best gifts for a newborn baby I would say would be diapers. Babies go through so many diapers it isn't funny. I know baby toys look so cute, but it will take months before a baby will play with toys. New mothers sometimes don't realized how many diapers they will need. If you have to money you could set up a basket with size 1 diapers, newborn wipes, a layette outfit, mild baby soap and lotion. These are things parents don't usually think about too often. A really great gift , for a second or more time mother whom you are close to, would be the gift of peace by taking care of her other kids for a while. Or gift certificates for food places because you don't feel like cooking on your first days home.

I just had a baby three months ago and the best thing which i use the most are cloth diapers, not to put on her but to use for burping, cleaning etc... because they soak up good, hold a lot, and is soft on there skin, and the other thing find out if there going to breast feed or not, formula would be a good one, or the best thing is to get something little and put a gift cert. with it, so they can get what they didn't get or what they need, trust me thats the best thing and they would much rather have that than to have to much of some things and need other things

Yes, it's not too creative but diapers. Size 1 - not NB size, they grow out of that too soon after being born.
Also, I go through onsies alot because when newborns poop it leaks out of their diaper getting the onsies stained almost every other day. I need about 20 onsies.
Also, those side snap long sleeve shirts that cover their hands so that they don't scratch their faces. They tear up their faces if their hands aren't covered, I need about 10 of those. They come in 2 packs by Gerber.

I think the best gift would be things he could use later in life... (if they do not have these things already) like the little floor gyms, learning toys. since christmas is coming up you could get him a christmas outfit. if they havent gotten his pictures taken yet you could buy a package for him to get his pictures taken. My daughters great grandparents gave her a savings bond, I thought that was really neat since its something she can't have now but in later life and worth more money (hopefuly). Good Luck its hard to think of things

lots of the flaws i found top-rated...an outfit in length 6 months or up (maximum mothers have a great number of little outfits yet no longer plenty for whilst toddler is older. a effective blanket....my daughter spits up on hers continuously so they are continually interior the wash. Thos little blankets with the animal heads are great too...my daughter likes to chew on them. Diapers and wipes in case you recognize what type they are making use of...you could by no potential get adequate of those. or in basic terms a modern-day card. I enjoyed giftcards the main suitable with the aid of fact i could purchase what we would have liked. I had a great number of stuff so they have been great for procuring diapers, wipes, formulation...belongings you desire yet human beings dont particularly purchase you.

make your own gift basket with a medical theme. digital thermometer, cold and fever meds, gas drops teething gel, nose suckie. and a box of relaxing tea ,bath salts, for mom. You can change themes try a back up diaper bag, every thing you might need if stranded.

I say get the mom the lotion gift baskets they have with lavender. We got one when my daughters were born that lavender calmed them so well. And get the mom a gift card from a local grocery store or Wal-Mart.
