They get injured all the time and euthanized when they don't heal right away... I think it's wrong to race horse's also cause it burns the energy out of them, and theyr'e feet get worn out very fast

That is undoubtably one of THE most ignorant questions I've seen on here in a long time!
As a racehorse trainer I take offence to yhour generalisation that racehorses are basically abused and then shot. This is not the case at all. You seem to forget that A - Thoroughbred Racehorses are a man made breed - created with the specific intent of racing, and B - most racehorses are treated better than many people treat their children!!!
The horses in the yard where I work are treated as individuals and given the specialised and detailed care that each recquires, from feeding and training to love and care. They lack for nothing, if they dont like their food, it's changed, we try to keep them at work with their stable companions so that they don't get stressed, many of them go for 3 month holidays in the winter season so that they can run out and let down, and just generally unwind before being brought back into training for the summer season.
The positives are endless. And yes I do realise that there is alot of abuse that goes on in horse racing, but no more than in any other Equestrian Discipline. personally of all the Equestrian disciplines i find Dressage to be the worst of all of them! at least in racing the horse is doing what comes naturally, Dressage is the most unnatural of all disciplines - mostly only once you get to the top levels, the basics being pretty much the norm.
I could go on, but all I really want to say is this: Make sure you have all your facts straight, before you go slinging around accusations like that in a public place.

I don't know about the feet getting worn out but you are correct in noting that it is hard on their bodies. Even though these horses are bred for spped and stanima they are very young when they go into training. It does come down to money. It costs a lot to raise and train a race horse. The faster they get to the track the faster they start to pay. Sadly it does mean that horse that don't make it at the track or are injured are often euthanized or sold to packers.
Check this link for information on horse chariteis and some that specialize in ex- race horses. http://horseracing.about.com/od/equinecharities/l/bleqchar.htm

Yes..It is wrong...They are still babies at when they go into training as yearlings, and are still unformed and immature at two. Their growth plates are still open and their joints, and knees are almost always compromised in the first year of racing and leads to arthritis, break down and generally a high risk for euthanasia. Not to mention the various drugs and hormones that they are routinely injected with. I think people would be surprised at the percentage of horses that are routinely given low doeses of pain meds because they are racing with arthritic knees at 3 and 4 years old.

I think they should wait but they get more speed out of the horses when they are younger. It's not about the animals anyway all they care about is the money they can make off of them after there threw racing they are used as breeders unless they weren't good racers where they may end up as glue or dog food.

To be completely honest with you, I'm against horse racing in general - people will do anything to get to the top even if it means they kill their horse or others. Horse racing is animal cruelty in its glory when you go behind the scenes; horses are traded, slaughtered, worked to death, and then disposed of...
