My kids print all kinds of stuff they NEVER look at and kill trees of paper not to mention all the ink carts! Is there a small program to require a password prior to printing and/or limit the number ofpages printed in a day? HELP

This program lets you manage your printing and more importantly set user quotas so that they can't print more than you allow them too, I recomond the 30 day trial. I'm sure there are other similar and more affordable programs out there.

Maybe you should try taking the plug of the printer off (like out of the back of the printer if possible) and take that away. If they want to print something, have them ask for the plug! I hope this helps!

Can you just take the cord off the printer, I wonder? Or will it then print all that stuff when you plug it back in and turn it on? I know there is a way to cancel jobs.....

if u have a windows nt / windows Xp then u can do it
Step -1 Create one user for kids
(start -> control panel -> user account -> new user)
Step -2 following stepts
Start -> Printer & Fax ( will show u your printer)
select printer -> right click-> go to property -->go to security
Step -3
from security list remove the kids user, so kids user cant print any thing.

tell your kids not too and u should probably change your printer to a laser one. it will cost a lot at first but save u money. hide the paper and let them print when u get home to suppervise them. Make them pay for their own paper.
