I don't understand this thing that is said "You teach people how to treat you." How do you do that? Explain in elementary terms.

"come back for more"? What do you mean? I think that is a different context to the question I was asking. It also discounts a situation such as work where you have to come back despite some ones behaviour toward you. It would be good if you explain that statment and the context in which it was said, otherwise it becomes confusing.

A famous Dr Phil quote
it means if someone is mean to you & you don't ask them not to treat you that way... like you don't bother to stick up for your self or you just keep doing all the work or WHATEVER it is etc
so they keep being mean to you...because you allow it to happen .. you have taught them that it ok to be mean & nasty to you & to use you & not respect you
I hope i explained that to you good so people will treat you how you want to be treated
good luck!!

By doing it yourself. It's like the old saying do onto others as u want them to do onto u.It is almost the same thing. You treat people good and others learn by your example.

Set by example, if they see how you treat people then that is how they will treat you. Or treat people how you would like them to treat you is another way of saying it.

If you let someone treat you with disrespect then they will think it is alright. But if you put your foot down and tell them their not going to say that to you again they'll know to respect you.

Treat others with respect and they will respect you back.

Treat others as you wish to be treated.

or
How you represent yourself.........

If you stand tall, respect yourself and are able to express yourself stating that your opinions count....people see that and respect you in return.

If you let someone belittle you, yell at you, beat you down and do nothing...cry, come back for more and do nothing....You have no respect for yourself....why should they.

Best wishes
