Freshi,
People tell you that these are the best years of your life because:
1. You don't have to work to have money to:
a. Pay the rent or house mortgage
b. Pay the electric and gas bills
c. Pay the enormous food bills, (teens are always hungry)
d. Pay the bills for the clothes you need for school. The better
it looks, the more coin it costs.
e. Pay the cost of school supplies, fees, library fines, gifts and
personal hygiene products.
f. Pay the latest technological do-hicky you just got to have to
keep your grade point average up, pass those SATs, stay
eligible for the team and listen to satalight radio and you
favorite mix of old & new tunes on your new Nan-o-Nite
implanted iPod.
g. Someone has to Pay the cost of your insurance, medicine
and health care costs.
2. You will develope the ability to run faster, jump higher, dance
better, sing groovier, hear the best music of your life.
3. You will meet the people that will become your friends for life
and always be there for you. (Even when you have a pimple
that looks like a third eye in the middle of your forehead.)
When you see them at 10, 20, 30, and 40 year reunions
you'll still see the skinny, knobby kneed friend that de-pants
the football jock on-stage and lived. Even though 30 lbs. are
added, a lot of hair's been lost a few lines have been added.
You'll see the friends, believe me, that you WILL make.
4. You'll fall in love perhaps for the first. For some it will be the
only real time. You'll never forget that person or the
experience no matter how joyfilled or painful. You will still love
them somewhere deep inside of your heart.
5. In High School Most people:
a. Wake up to a body that is in good working order and does
not hurt and needing something like Viagra is the last
substance it needs.
6. The only thing that can limit you is your dreams and belief in
yourself.
a. If you do not like something about your appearance, work on
it, minimize it and flaunt your attributes.
b. Get involved in clubs and go out for sports. Students that
engage in extra cirricular activities are more likely to stay in
school because they are involved and having fun.
c. Avoid people who are negative. They bring you down. Smile
It increases your face value.
d. Find someone that needs a friend and lend a hand.
1. Are there any students around where you live that are in
your classes or have had one of your teachers that
is "tuff"? Asking for advice is a great ice-breaker.
7. You might have more fun in college. I know that people in high
school know everything already. But there is life and fun to
come later too. (Been there, done that, ?Where did I leave
that T-Shirt....)

first reaction was WTF WHAAT A**H**** Man, I am so sorry and this sucks big time for you, your friends and the victims in your school You can always show the page to teachers, your counsellor, or your principal. You can also choose to ignore them because really, are the bullies worth your time? Comfort your friends first (that is a must) and If you're really brave confront the anonymous person and start defending.Chances are more people are going to stand behind you and defend with you. Yes, I think it is able for the school to track down the person by their IP address. When i got bullied, they almost did that. It depends if your school is willing to help you I live in Canada and my high school is pretty peaceful because we like to live our own lives with our own friends. We don't experience bullying often. The only one that i know of this year was when this group of guys in my grade hated a girl also in my grade and they started bullying her by telling her to 'go die, you're so annoying," the usual immature guy things. Of course, not all high schools in Canada are like my school. The reason why I don't experience much bullying is because I go to a private school and my public school friends tell me all the stories about druggies and bullies.

It may seem like that at first but as you progress in High School you'll like it more. Some people find it aggravating because of some people who hate you. High School isn't that bad. I had a great time in high school. Friends change sometimes over time, try to look on the bright side.

Just wait until you are 40 something, and you will understand where us oldtimers are talking about. It's a matter of "back in the day", when we were young, looking for fun, and have fond memories of the fun we had. I am from the class of 82, and can tell you it was nothing but fun, and I'd do it all over if given a chance. My grades were good, and my social life was busy!

Nope. That would be college, not high school. You know, unless you're rebellious in which case you won't get into as much trouble if you do crap since you're underage. High school is one of the worst periods of your life. So much stress, peer pressure, homework, and having to go to school with a bunch of morons isn't exactly all that great.

high school is horrible...the social interactions are like that of the book "lord of the flies" at least adults in the workplace pretend to be civil for the most part, although there are always a few as sholes.
Just go with it and study and get good grades so you can make more money than the losers who torture you....

I'll tell you why HS is the best time of your life ... more liberties than you had when you were young ... you will be able to drive soon ... you still don't have to worry about things like rent, bills, insurance, job responsibilities.
The going to school part is your "job", but you still have summers off, and you still have the security of living at home.
Enjoy this time.

o wow! i relate SO well to this one. when i was a freshman i was thrown into an all-girls Catholic high school, where i was the minority (only 4 blacks including myself). my parents made me do student council. i didn't like the teachers. my best friend was at the school i had wanted to go to. in short, i hated it! and i never believed what anyone said "it goes by fast, cherish it". i'm only a senior but it's true. i wish i had more time to spend with my friends now. fresh year i wasn't friends with the same girls as now, and i regret it b/c we could've been closer. i wish i had gotten more into knowing the guys from our brother school, more into the sports and parties, art and drama.
i figured i had to accept where i was, so maybe i forced myself to like it? you can always look at it this way: high school gets you the education you need in order to get where you WANT to be and who you want to be with - college. it's worth it. it all pays off. promise
