A wise man once said "The only way to be truly happy with someone else, is to be happy with yourself first." When you're happy WITH yourself, you're happy BY yourself....and that makes you someone pretty interesting to be around...which people will inevitably feel. If you think about it.....who is actually REALLY happy with others? Momentarily entertained or amused is more like it. Ask around, and you'll find many lonely people amidst crowds. You can be lonely in solitude, but solitude does not mean loneliness. In all my travels over the years, I have met very few genuinely happy people. One thing they all had in common was that they had no problems being alone.

I dont know how old u r, but I was very happy on my own for 14 yrs, I have found somebody since then, but can tell u it was very difficult to share a double bed. One does tend to get set in ones own way, which may be a difficult thing to break. Just think, with friends y r never alone. Be happy

ok i just read an answer you gave about still being a virgin at 27 and i reall y feel so bad for you. How can you think you are a loser....you cant hate yourself that much...it pains me to see people who feel so down on them self.

I personally think you can be happy alone, if you have the right personality. Me personally, i have never really had a boyfreind. Trust me ive had SOOOOOOOO many guys aske me out, but none that were my type or that i liked enough to take time out of my life to persue a rlationship...to me i dont want to go out without with someone just so i wont be lonely, there has to be something strong. And i havent found it yet...(although ppl claim to have found it with me...geez i wish these crazies would leave me alone...lol)

But yeah if i never find mr. right i think i could live with it...i mean i like to have my space... and i wont settle for just any guy.

But yeah man you sound like a nice person, you need to find someone to talk to and if you just really a friend just email me chavona13@yahoo.com. And i can talk to you, and my freinds can talk to you tooo..what ever you do please stop the self hatred...

peace and love- chai

Short answer no. While some people prefer to have more alone time than others in order to reduce the stress associated with relationships, the human animal is a highly social one. We all have a Language Acquisition device and other pre-programmed social functions built-in before we're even born. Children who are isolated from society at birth, such as wolf children (children raised by wolves) often never learn language and have a host of other social problems. In addition, people who have more friends and other people to talk to live longer. Even hermits who live out in the middle of the desert may choose to express themselves to the world by building giant castles of painted junk, coral, etc. I say: don't fight it. you're a social being at heart!!! For me, my interest in exotic plants, such as orchids and carnivorous plants are the way to express myself, but to each his own. good luck!!!

You and everybody needs someone - friends, a lover, another human's touch. If you are shy and find it difficult to make friends and meet new people, why don't you get a dog? That way you'll definitely have a friend and will surely meet nice doggie owners in the park with whom you'll have lots to share. Whatever please don't be lonely.

I can't speak for you, but I know I sure wouldn't be happy. If that is the case I'm pretty sure you could get laid by some girl that feels sorry for you lol.

There are lots of people who would make fun of the prospect of changing their destinies. This is because it believes that nobody gets more that exactly what is put in his destiny.
