House insurance going up
Gas shortages/hour long waits to get a tank of gas
Cell phones not working (You get a message that says, "Due to teh recent hurricanes in your area..." I don't know what she says after that, I've always hung up.) Text messages would get through very slowly though, but it's the only way to find out if your family and friends are alive and ok.

dead people. lots of destuction, tax payers money going to something good for once to clean it up
