Well, I've really never thought too much about politics and I thought that it would be better if I weren't so ignorant seeing how I will be voting soon. Please explain your views in full detail, not just "republican" or "democrat," because I'd like to learn about both. Thanks.

I'd have to say neither.

Democrats are bad as usual.
Republicans have bad representation.

This country is divided over too many things. Who do you want to control the house and senate? The party which has tried and at this point is messing up (Repubs) or the party that bashes them for it but has no plan for their own (Demos). Think about that when you vote.

Democratic party is better because the Republican party has room in it for people like Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson.

sturdy question! there is often call calling and interest enjoying in politics- i think of it relatively is the ego situation. This i visit declare although because it sounds such as you're a teenager and characteristic severe questions and concerns. i replaced into interior the protection tension while Mr Carter replaced into president. the protection tension replaced into in a shambles and our adult men and ladies in uniform have been horribly underpaid and our kit replaced right into a depressing mess. while Reagan took workplace he took an quite aggressive place proper to our protection tension and endeavored to make a good protection tension protection and he used the protection tension very aggressively while mandatory for which he took an incredible quantity of criticism. From my place Reagan replaced into between the suitable leaders this u . s . a . has ever had! Then got here President G H Bush, he engaged us interior the Gulf conflict and replaced into effective in that yet did no longer bypass a techniques sufficient, that i've got faith is why we are having a number of the stressful circumstances that we are having immediately. Clinton replaced right into a screwball who replaced right into a superb orator and in a position to control the persons along with his crafty techniques. It replaced into quite obtrusive that Mr Clinton replaced into greater drawn to sexual exploitations than your and my risk-free practices. on an analogous time as in workplace Mr Clinton refused to take any practicable movements against our enemies and that i firmly have faith because of the fact of this Bin weighted down replaced into so brazen to tug off 911 even although President George Bush had basically taken workplace. George Bush has taken an aggressive stand against terrorism yet no longer as good as i've got faith President Reagan might have. Pres Bush has additionally taken a lot criticism on the hands of the Democrats and liberal media. i choose you to understand that the media is in lots of cases no longer telling you the certainty, neither are your severe college & college professors. they have an anti American schedule which boggles my recommendations. The Republicans tend to have a professional-usa professional-Freedom professional-good protection tension quite concervative stance. The Democrats are basically the different and don't warrant the potential to form.

Democrats = GOP but without the tax cuts, which HAVE paid for themselves (revenue is not only up but is higher than the CBO projections either with or without the tax cuts).

The Dems are NOT going to allow gay marriage - - in the end both parties will end up supporting "civil unions" which is the same thing just not called "marriage."

The GOP is NOT on the verge of undoing Roe. They're not even close.

The Dems currently running the party have opposed free trade in the past but they're not going to undo NAFTA or GATT nor should they, nor can they.

Whoever wins, the US is not going to sign Kyoto, nor should we.

Generally speaking, we're all Libertarians, but most of us are only selectively so. There are two political desires - - (1) to make sure the government doesn't stop you from doing what you want to do, and (2) to use the government to make other people do what you want them to do - or stop them from doing things of which you don't approve.

Most people agree on (1) but everyone wants to do different things. Libertarians are people who have freed themselves from desire (2). But most people haven't.

There are very few people who honestly think that the government "shouldn't legislate morality" - - most people just think that the government should legislate THEIR morality but not anyone else's. Almost all of the supporters of gay marriage, for example, also support welfare. Their values include charity. They seek to impose that value on others. Before we even get to the fact that the dollar you take from me, 75 cents of which goes to a bureaucrat and 25 cents of which goes to the out-or-work widget maker or widget seller, is a dollar I'd have spent on a widget or invested in the widget company, there's the simple fact that it's my dollar, not yours, and that what I choose to do with my dollar is as sacred - assuming we both believe in equality - as what you choose to do with your body. You can't have it both ways - but "social conservatives" and "economic liberals" want it both ways.

Basically, they're both hypocrites. They both claim to hate government but then enlarge it. They both claim to want the government out of your private life but they both expand government intrusion in to some people's private lives.

Unfortunately the Libertarian Party doesn't have a candidate in every election, and rarely has a chance of winning. That puts most of us in a position where it's my rights or someone else's rights. I think gays should be allowed to marry and I think women should be allowed, up to the second trimester, to have an abortion. But I'm not gay and I'm not a woman and I also think that people should have the right to spend their money how THEY want, on THEMSELVES and THEIR families, not on someone else's. And I make a decent living, for which I work very hard.

So I vote Republican, even though I disagree with their intrusions into other people's lives. I have no choice - I can't vote someone else's rights ahead of my own.

Republicans believe in big business and tradition. They have strongly devout Christian beliefs and believe that everyone in America should conform to them or leave the country. They're against all forms of abortion and stem cell research

Democrats believe in a free market and reform. They strongly believe in the separation of church and state, so that one doesn't influence the other. They're pro-choice on abortion and support stem cell research.
