No, but i felt so embarrassed for someone else though specially that person has been trying to get pregnant. I'll never forget the look on her face and the look on the person who asked

There is a woman I work with that looks 8 months pregnant, and I goofed up and asked her when she was going on maternity leave.

Several women were all pregnant at the same time, so I thought she was too. She curtly told me she was 46 and had her tubes tied years ago.

Open mouth, insert foot. I still feel weird when I see her.

This actually happened to my friend. She was at a hair salon and a woman came up to her, touched her stomach, and said "awe, baby?" My friend said "No, I'm just fat." She had a good sense of humor about it though - I know some people would be much more affected by the experience. However, not long after that she joined an aerobics class and lost some weight.

Yes, i asked some one because they seriously looked pregnant, their belly was really big and round. Turned out that they weren't and i felt soooooo bad because i didn't want to hurt their feelings and guess what I've never asked that question to another person.
:)

Funny you brought this up. There's a contractor working at my job and he came up to me today and said, "Congratulations!" Then, he goes, "I'm only saying it now because I overheard you were pregnant. I've once said that to someone who wasn't and I was sooooo embarrassed. I promised myself never to assume that again."

I told him that I was at the mall with my sis-in-law once and a woman straight up came to her and rubbed her belly. She asked her when she was due. My sis was not pregnant. She has a thin torso, but a poochie belly (not huge). My sis was soooo offended. The woman didn't know how to cover her tracks. Now, how embarrassing is that??? I felt bad for both parties.

no but i was about to. she did look 5-6 months pregnant and she was waring a top that i thought pregnant women would wear. i asked somebody else in the room instead and i am glad i did before asking the suspect.
but hey, you asked already and you cannot change that. and i am not sure you are not the only one who asked her that question. things happen.. it was just a mistake.. and you did not do it on purpose. right?!! don't worry about it.

Someone asked me when my baby was due. This was about a year after I had my child. She was SO embarassed when I told her I weren't pregnant, if youre not sure, don't go there.

Yes, yes, yes, I did this in the grocery store with the checker. I wasn't even thinking and I said "oh, when are you due?" and she looked me right in the eye and said "I am not pregnant" I crawled out of there and never ever went into her line again. Lesson learned and stored prominently in my brain. I could of died of embarrassment.
