I was wondering...I am 38wks and 5 days pregnant, And was wondering if getting REALLY upset could cause labor to start?
I got extremely aggravated with my fiance, And yelled and screamed and ended up crying about an hour and a half ago, And ever since, the top part of my belly has been tightening up, and I've had some uncomfortable (not unbearable) pain along with the tightening...I had a routine check up yesterday, And I was dilated 2cm...If that makes any difference...
Anyone have any advice or any input?!!?
Thanks in advance.

Yes stress can send you into labor early. I have went through the same thing. I was 37 weeks and got into with my baby's dad. My blood pressure jumped shy high and I started having pains. I thought they would go away but they got worse. I called my doctor and he insisted that I come and see him. When I got to the hospital, my blood pressure was still vey high and I was having contractions. To make a long story short, I had my baby 3 weeks before he was due. Take care of yourself and don't let him or noone for that matter send you into labor early ok?

It may. But you are so close now to your due date, you could just go early. You just need to remember, that stress is a bad thing because it is the tightening of the muscles. It could be that you were so stressed, that your stomach just tightened. I think that at this point where you are so close to the end of the pregnancy, that it would be best to relax. Stress at this time could cause the babies heart to rise and could be very bad.

Baby knows when you are stressed. Your body knows when you are stressed too and any more pressure put on the baby then you are bound to go in to labour. Sit down and relax with an ice cold water. Nobody should be getting you stressed out in the first place. best of luck x

Yeah it can set things off for you. If you were already 2 cm yesterday and are having contractions now, which is what you are describing you could be starting labor.
