After vacuuming I always mop with hot water but it leaves water spots. What's a better way?

You can use Minwax Hardwood Floor Cleaner - it doesn't leave residue on your floors. I work in a Home Improvement Warehouse and this is our #1 seller for the floors (I stock it in my department and am constantly ordering it for the flooring department) - plus I personally have used it on laminate floors that we have laid in the store. Here is the website if you want to see what the product looks like and read more about it.

A mop on a laminated floor. No get down on your knees with a nice clean damp cloth diluted with a cup of vinegar to a gallon of water, the mop makes streak marks. And think of the exercising you get doing it.

I go over the floor with a dampened paper towel after I've cleaned it, being sure to swipe the paper towel only back and forth with the "grain" of the floor --if I'm careful I can leave few streaks or spots this way.

Laminate Hardwood Care & Maintenance

Mohawk Laminate Flooring™ is extremely hygienic and easy to keep clean. Here are our recommendations to keep you Mohawk Laminate Flooring™ looking beautiful for many years. Simply use a Mohawk FloorCare Essentials Hard Surface Care Kit.

Routine cleaning requires just vacuuming, dusting with a clean Mohawk's Microfiber "Dry" Mop Cloth, or Microfiber "Wet" Mop Cloth to prevent loose dirt or grit from scratching your floor's finish.

Use non-staining walk-off mats by the entrance of all outside doorways.

Use Mohawk FloorCare Essentials Hard Surface Cleaner and a Microfiber wet mop cloth to remove footmarks and most stubborn dirt. Never use excessive amounts of water on your laminate floor.

Never use scouring substances, abrasive cleaners, paste waxes or any floor polishes on your Mohawk Laminate Floor.

Marks and stubborn stains can easily be removed with Acetone™ nail polish remover or other mild, solvents containing alcohol.

Felt pads should be affixed to the base of all furniture legs and drip trays should be placed underneath any planted pots. Movable furniture should be fitted with wide, rubber rollers.

The use of Mohawk FloorCare Essentials Hard Surface Cleaner on a regular basis is all you need to do to keep your floor looking beautiful for many years.

Hardened glue left over after your floor is installed can be removed with Acetone™ nail polish remover or special glue solvents.

IMPORTANT TIPS

" Use Mohawk FloorCare Essentials Hard Surface Cleaner on a regular basis. (NEVER USE: Abrasive pads and cleaners, including nylon scouring pads, steel wool, Comet™, Soft Scrub™, etc. which may damage the finish.)

Footprints and dirt easily wipe away with a moist Mohawk Microfiber cloth. (Wring cloth well before use.) It is recommended to remove any wet spills immediately to avoid liquid penetration into the seams.

Use felt protectors or approved nylon pads under furniture and replace all hard plastic or metal rollers on furniture with soft rubber rollers.

Use caution when moving large appliances such as refrigerator, ranges, etc. Use protective mats at exterior entrances and in heavy traffic areas.

Always remove loose dirt by sweeping. Mop using Mohawk Floor Care Essentials Hard Surface Cleaner and a Mohawk Microfiber "Wet" Mop Cloth. Use only a slightly damp mop.

Don't use "mop-and-shine" products. They'll leave a dull film. Never wax or polish your floor.

I dont mop mine, I use spray cleaner with a swiffy thing, water lifts the boards up, no matter how you wring your mop, as we found out when we first lay it. Its now ruined in places and I've had to move stuff round to cover it up.

Murphy's Oil Soap and a sponge mop.... Pledge now makes something too ... it smells like oragnes. Doesn't leave streaks and you don't have to rinse .... what ever you do don't use regular pledge... it makes them slippery and you will break your neck
