Do not go for the normal, typical projects that wind up at every science fair--the volcano, the planet mobile, etc. Just do a project on something you are truly interested in. Anything can be a science fair project:

Does expensive lipstick last longer than cheap lipstick?
Do vegetables last longer on the counter or refrigerated?
Which hamburger molds first: McDonald's, Burger King's, or Hardee's?
Do food packages really contain the amount (weight) of food they list on their packaging?
Can people tell the difference between namebrand vs. generic shampoo, soda, candy, etc?

you could go with the obvious (well, to me) THE OLD EGG IN THE BOTTLE TRICK

you will need:
a hardboiled egg
an empty glass snapple bottle
what you do:
fill the snapple jar with boiling water, get the hardboiled egg and put it over the bottle, the hot water will make the egg hot, and will suck it down inside
