I have a neighbor who is a rapid republican and she works the polling places in Florida. She is loaded by 10 a.m. each day. Yes she votes then she takes care of your vote. Hanging chads? What about drunken chads?

I know who I am going to vote for, whether I was on drugs or not. I don't take drugs, but I don't want to give the government more power, for what?
I think you should have to take a basic test to "earn" the privlege to vote, voting is not a right.
Many Democrats are opposed to having a requirement to produce an ID to prove who you are, to cut down on voter fraud. I'm all for that law. You can't rent a movie without an ID, but you can vote without one?
The Dems figure illegal aliens may vote, and if they did, they'd vote for the party of hand outs. The more votes the merrier!

Interesting idea, probably unconstitional. If the justification is "sound mind," then we should have everyone undergo a psych exam and an IQ/Civics/"Current Events" exam. These were the tools of Jim Crow south to prevent blacks from voting, and would probably not pass constitutional muster today. It would also invade the privacy of people who are exercising a fundamental right in this country. it would also be unduly expensive and overbroad.

And, how would you do this? How would it be paid for? Remember there can not be a poll tax.
