Give a break with the "maid idea" they have a cold and are saying "Main Idea"....I believe it is EYE CONTACT....people do not believe what you are saying without it and that makes the rest irrelevant...You said pick one and that is what I did.

Ultimately, doing the same performance over and over will rub some people a little raw on the topic, so avoid an endless repetition of the same. In order to really satisify your audience, you should be seeking continuous feed back during your Oral performance. You can then adjust to suit on the fly, during the presentation. Flexibility is always valuable in such situations. This will take some practice and will come in time as you develop your oral skills. Additionally, Spice your orals up don't be afraid to let your tongue lead you to places and subjects that you normally wouldn't be comfortable with. The audience can have a wide variety of wants, so be prepared to meet them. Hope this helps.

I think it's being engaging.
Loosen up and tell a joke or slip one in.
Have visual aids. A PowerPoint presentation is really helpful, words and pictures and all! Eye contact is great.
A loud, clear voice. And somehow engage audience (like I said before). Try it by Asking them a question to see if they're listening. We always did something fun like handing out a piece of candy at the end of it.
I had a group I had to present with all the time. They always wanted to go with the SUPER DUPER monotone professional type ones. I liked to spice it up with fun, funniness, and pictures in the PPT, etc. They didn't like that. But when we gave the presentation, we found that the audience didn't like "stiff, and rigid, overly boring and professional presentations". They liked it more upbeat and fun, with an "opener or something to break the ice" in the beginning and with asking them questions (a more casual environment. I was right b/c every time we gave a rigid presentation our grades were so-so. But when we were inventive, fun, asking the audience questions, casual, etc. We got High A's!

First of all, what in the world is a "maid idea?"
The best attentin getter for an oral presentation is to give your speech in your underwear. No wait, you are supposed to imagine your audience in its underwear to help nerves.
Gosh!

Well to "get" the audience's attention it is a good idea to start off with a joke or ask a question that would interest the audience. The ones you listed are better used to hold their attention.

Two that you don't list are not saying a word until you have everyone's attention and speaking so softly at first that everyone has to strain and then shutup to hear you. But if I had to pick one of yours I would say number 2.
