Patriot Games is the only movie I have ever seen where the movie was actually better than the book. At least Sean had a more believable motive in the movie. Yay for Han Solo. They should have transported him back in time to save the first three Star Wars.

Well, obviously, as "Sum Of All Fears" sucked badly enough to kill the whole Jack Ryan franchise.
That film really ticked me off, because one of the major themes in the book is the fact that Ryan has recently turned 50, and he's reassessing his life and his work up until that point - (mis)casting Ben Affleck as Ryan not only cut the heart out of that movie, but it made continuing on to "Debt Of Honor" impossible (Ryan becomes president of the USA at the end of that book, something Affleck could never do)

Maybe, but the books were awesome, Tom Clancy is a genius.
