as others have said, it's most likely related to what you had to eat before the first test.
they say that you can eat or drink anything you want before the test, and it won't affect a thing, but everyone i've talked to has advised me to be careful about what I eat that day...not go without eating or anything, but no high sugar juices or sodas, no cookies or candy bars, and even avoid really starchy high-carb foods.
it would be nice if doctors would tell you things like that before the first test, because they'd save themselves and you plenty of time (and money if you don't have insurance)
--but if you fast before the test, which is what many women are likely to do if they're warned about the possible ramifications of eating lots of sugar before hand, then you may not test very high, but still have gestational diabetes.
it's unfortunate that that's the way the world seems to work, but it's much healthier for the babies this way that more women have to take an extra test than have a bunch of women running around giving their babies way too much sugar and causing all sorts of health problems in the long run.
congratulations on being a healthy mom and having a healthy bundle of joy though!

I don't know what your results mean, because I am in Europe, and I don't know what a gestational test is.
I assume that the first reading was rather high. If a gestational test is one that is taken after a meal, then it is quite possible for the 1 hour test to be high and the 3 hour one to be normal. This means that your insulin is working to get the blood sugar down from the higher level.
Even non-diabetics can have slightly high blood sugar readings from time to time, and a transient high like this is not cause for alarm, IMO.

Discrepancies can occur if you drank or ate anything before the test and if you drank or ate anything after the test begun. It's possible that you still had some food in your system that made the first test results higher. I had the same thing happen and I also have diabetes running strongly through my family. I didn't have any problems though and it's fairly safe to say that you won't either.

You could have reacted differently to the test. Or had a lot of sugar in your blood for the first test.
