YES, YES, YES.
We have 12 Dwarf hamsters, and 14 Syrian hamsters, and a hedge hog. We have 5 children. No, you/we are not crazy. We love animals and children. The hedgehog is in a 100 gallon aquarium, the dwarf female hamsters (6, mother and 5 babies, two generations) are in a12 X 36 aquarium. The father is alone in a 12 x24 aquarium then boys 6(2 generations) ina a 12 x 30 in aquarium. Three male syrians from a litter of 15 are in separate cages. Two male siblings in a 40 gallon aquarium. 18 x 36 and 4 sisters in an 18 x 36 aquarium and 3 sisters and the mother in a 18 x 36 aquarium. They all have their own exercise wheels. Suction cup wheels. They get along fairly well.
We should start our own CRAZY about animals MOM club.

When people come over (especially kids) they always come into my bedroom and look at all my tanks. That's where 6 of the 8 tanks are. So far I have 6 goldfish,
100ish guppies,
50ish snails,
1 betta,
1 hermit crab (I want at least 1 more so he can have company),
2 turtles,
1 cat and 1 dog. Is that enough for a mini zoo?

I once had 24 mice, 12 guinea pigs, two rabbits, 6 spiny mice and 6 rats. I was overwhelmed with all the cages to clean. But I did do it. I got down to a manageable 3 rats over the years. Hey, if you can handle it and keep those aquariums up, I say do it. Children love pets. Just hope your city doesn't have an ordinance on how many pets you can have there. I never tried to find out when I had my rodent menagerie. Good luck, have fun!!!!

No... I dont have a mini zoo :( wish i did but i still live with my parents. I bet when i move out i will too! Right now i have 2 rats. Bunches of fish, and 4 dogs. I want alot more though. Its not too many animals if you have enough room for them and are able to take care of them good.

I think thats something special, you can teach your
children good values with pets. Thet can form special
social bonds too. As for me, iv'e had 4 birds, 6 dogs,
4 goldfish, and im adding to my collection getting another
dog for christmas.(all the pets listed above, i didnt have
at the same time) I curently have 2 birds, one had to
be removed because he/she had serious social problems
that i couldnt tolerate, and one died a few weeks ago(R.I.P.
milo). Im looking forward to getting a miniature schnauzer
for christmas. Im such a big animal lover lol. Good luck
with your zoo and best wishes to your family.

You're not alone. I've got:
2 pugs (fixed, indoor only)
1 cattle dog (fixed, outside when I'm at work, inside the rest of the time)
3 cats (fixed, indoor only)
1 bunny (fixed, indoor only)
1 hamster
12 goldfish (pond)
2 catfish (pond)
4 trapdoor snails (pond)
3 cana snails (pond)
6 apple snails (pond)
and I just recently added 3 laying hens.
I think that makes 38. :)
I say as long as you have room and your animals are happy & well-cared for (and FIXED!)... have as many as you want!

As long as you are able to properly care for and provide for all the pets, I don't see a problem with it. If your city has a restriction on how many animals are allowed in a household, it could be a problem... But since the majority are amphibian/fishes I wouldn't worry about it... Unless your neighbors complain.
I only have two gold fish, and that's enough for me (comet-tail and ryukin)!
