When they are old enough to make the decision that they want their ears pierced.

I think a person should be able to choose for themselves if they want pierced ears or not. Wait until she's older and let her decide.

Technically, however this is a safe procedure for babies, but it is best to wait until your infant has had at least two tetanus shots and is at least three months old. The longer you wait, the more developed the child’s immune system will be. Also, make sure the earrings are 14 karat gold or surgical grade stainless steel, as these are the two metals least likely to irritate the baby’s skin.

You’ll want to visit a piercing professional who is used to piercing babies. This is okay to do at the mall, but you should talk to the person beforehand to discuss their experience in piercing babies, as it is much harder to get an infant to sit still. An even better idea is to have the piercing done in a doctor’s office. Talk to your pediatrician about it if this idea appeals to you.

I've seen babies of all ages with their ears peirced. It really depends on the Mom, I think. Personnally, babies are enough work without adding holes to care for...lol

I took my daughter to pierce her ears for her 1st birthday. Make sure you clean the spot as often as they suggest and do not get any hoops (she can tug them), simple studs.

i think you are referring to piercing......i asked the same question not long ago and got some great advice......you either do it very young like 6-12months or wait until they are aroung the 5yr mark when they will want to get it done.....there is cleaning and what not when you have them pierced so when they are little it would be easier and when they are older they can help in doing it themselves....

Then I think about 5 years old or later if you wish. Maybe your child can decide when she wants them.

its not wrong its up to you really, some people do it now cause it doesnt hurt much for babies and usually they would want it when they grow up so you might cause less pain if you do it now
