Alanis Morissette! Her songs just pick me up so much!
If you've never heard of her or if you don't like her, I beg of you to try out some of her songs like Ironic, You Oughta Know, Hand In My Pocket, Hands Clean, or You Learn.

If she's just not your type at all (which would be shocking!), try out some of Sheryl Crow's songs like Everyday Is A Winding Road.

Then you got the classics like the Emotions or Des'ree (Best of My Love and You Gotta Be).

Female artists are rapidly becoming more and more popular. Watch MTV for a day and you'll see what I mean.
