we claim to have freedom of speech, but how can that be if the government gets you fired for your speech, especially in a capitalist country?

Do you think that the average employer would say no to someone from the government e.g. a legislator or agent who tells them to fire somebody?

Yes, because even though it's a free country, your employer has the right to terminate you if you violate policy, including the government. Do you think that our government can operate properly as a workplace if everybody handled their problems by giving someone the finger? That is unprofessional behavior and is unacceptable in any workplace. If somebody gave me the finger at work, I'd want them fired too, then I'd professionally kick their sorry ***. What are you in, Kindergarden?

I feel it was once the National that did a file in this. The tagline was once, "has the American obsession with weapons and violence reached the UK?" Apparently there is a few courting right here among video video games and those little punk gangs. I'm amazed they did not movie it, or might be they did. Much of the time those forms do. They're like the ones youngsters who experience getting the homeless to combat every different for alcohol, and who beat the homeless for amusing. Same ones who bounce off skateboards onto concrete surfaces. What's humorous to those youngsters is weird. Inflicting anguish is it appears hilarious--that involves mental anguish. They simply do not look to believe some thing. But, in an international of chaos, it is helping not to believe some thing. I feel while you create a society wherein youngsters reside in those one of a kind packing containers--laptop/television/telephone....--; don't have interaction with different individuals; are scared of all of the violence/skills violence, to not point out worldwide warming and whether or not they actually have a long term, we will assume a few individuals to be numb. It's unhappy that it is received to this factor.

Yes, it can be a free country, a country where people are free from the abusive behavior of others. You are confusing freedom with license, as is typical of one who wishes to somehow justify improper behavior and even crimes. The superintendant needs to be commended for this firing, not condemned. The Congressman, however, needs to be censured, not because he sought the firing, but because he bragged that he was instrumental in it.

I would say that is the least of what they should have gotten. If someone has that much disrespect for themselves and others, they need to look for a job where it is acceptable. There is a line drawn for the amount of free speech one is entitled to. Go over the line and suffer the consequences
