I'm 20, but I look like I am 161 Please help?

Question

I have long blonde hair, and without straightening it it's wavy and curly, so it's like I have a beach style theme for my hair all year around. I straighten it when I can I have two young children so that doesn't happen often. I can't find clothes that fit my budget. My only choice is the junior section and that's not wear I'd like to shop. Please help. What style should my hair be to appear older than 16 and what make up, clothes should I wear? I don't wear kid teen clothes, but I still look like one.

You poor thing, people's answers have been so lame!

Trust me, when you are 40, you will love that people will think you're younger! LOL.

First of..I wouldn't worry about it too much. I'm sure people aren't thinking about it as much as you are, and if they are then they ar dumb and superficial.

Here are some tips to look older (It sounds as if you are petite)
1. Get hairdos/haircuts that are not teenage in style. Get a more sophisticated do like a sleek bob (easy for you to do with kids).
2. Dye your hair a darker color. Get the blonde highlights, and the platinum out of your hair. Try for something sophisticated. Look at soap operas at the older stars in their 40's something like that. Don't wear cutsie barretts/hair clips, etc.
3. Wear sophisticated earrings, and jewelry. Put away the teenage looking and cheap jewelry. A pair of CZ Princess cut earrings set in silver are always sophisticated.
4. Don't shop at teen stores. Try Sears in the petite section, try Mervyn's petite section and etc. Try the more "business casual" look. Get jackets that button up that look sophisticated. Don't show too much cleavage or skin. Don't wear knee high boots or girly/teenage type shoes. You don't have to look old and frumpy, either.
5. Watch your accesories. My sister is in her 30's and always walks around with a backpack , a small black one for a purse on her back and most people will think she's 17 because of it. Get a sophisticated, sleek looking purse.
6. Attitude, attitude attitude! Have a classy, sophisticated attitude. My sister walks all fast and talks like a ditzy teen so people think she is and she gets sooo mad. She wears halter tops and tight jeans and has her thong sticking out the back of her jeans...lol . No wonder people think she's a teenager!
7. Clothes on a budget? Go to consignment shops! They have lots of variety and cheaper prices. Go to thriftstores, it's fun to dig around! Try Ebay!
8. For makeup you can wear any brand from the drugstore, Avon, or department stores. Just stay away from "glitter", "glimmer", "shimmer", lipglosses, etc. Try a "matte" look. Get some "matte" lipstick (darker is more sophisticated). Try neutral browns for eyeshadow. Throw out all purples, pinks and bright colors like that. Wear clear lipgloss if you want lipgloss. Wear matte foundation.

AND MY ONE LAST PEICE OF ADVICE THAT I LIKE TO TELL MY MOM EVEN: YOU TEACH PEOPLE HOW TO TREAT YOU. So if you want to be treated like a grown up, teach them that!

ok well you should straighten your hair.. like every 3 days or more. because you dont want your hair dying @_@
make up.. should look natural if you have loads of makeup on people will mistake you for a 16 year old lol because they have no idea how to put on make up (my opinion) like use lipstick.. and rub in.. you want a stain of the colour there.. you dont want to make it too obvious. foundation. if you have flawless skin ( say NO to foundation!!!!!) if your skin needs some improvements use foundation and dont forget to clean it clear off your face after a day. eyeshadow.. nahh.. it shouldnt be used too often its not an amazing makeup prop lol/

clothes.. its really simple if your in uk.( i can help) . dorothy perkins, primark, office.. etc.. they are perfect for you.. but i cant help with many stores in the U.S. i havent been there recently lol
wear sofisticated clothes and dont feel too self contious of your self.. be happy of who you are!!!!

hey I'm 22 and i look 13!! It really doesn't mature how you look, it's how you dress and act that counts!!! by the way I think it's mostly genes that are responsible for some babyfaces out there.

Also if you're short, that doesn't help either. Plus who really cares what others think?!! I mean that would be so immature to worry about pointless things like this!

I do not know how you could look 161. I do not believe anyone has ever lived to that age so what could you possibly look like. Must be very wrinkled. Stay out of the sun.
