Oh yes, he certainly does. An alarming number of people buy into his second excuse of a joke gone badly.

No , not many . Maybe Kerry is continuing his Treason Tour with Michael Moore-who , incidentally both personally approached mourning families at their son's wakes , during the 2004 election , to help him win the presidency - sometimes even at the funeral . Some were put on the payroll days after their son's deaths ; but others refused to get involved with Kerry .

From what I heard, he said he wasn't talking about troops, but
the war in general. I'm not even sure what he said. But I think
people are to sensitive..and can't wait to jump on somebody for
saying something "politically incorrect". Well, when Condeleeza
Rice went in front of some federal commission or whatever, she
admitted that a private conversation had taken place she and the
President about Al- Quada..she said, " he got tired of swatting
flies". Refering to why he sent troops. So, nobody even gave
that remark a second thought. Although I was amused by it... I
don't know the whole story of what John Kerry said, so....??

All the republicans are big supporters of John Kerry right now. He is the GOP poster boy for the upcoming elections.

Regardless of whether he intended to make a joke or not, the comment was stupid and gave the GOP something to grasp at just before the elections when they were down. There is some truth in what he said however. During the Vietnam War when the draft was in effect, many were able to avoid the draft by keeping their grades up while in college. I believe there were exceptions to the draft for college students who maintained a certain average. What worries me is that he could have given something away in terms of intention by congress to reinstitute the draft.

Besides him being a complete moron. Republicans should love Kerry, he may have just won the elections for them.

I'm beginning to think he's a covert Republican out there just to undermine the Democrats.

(Please note I am neither Democrat nor Republican, I think nearly every incumbent [and no less than half of the new opponents] is a money grubbing idiot that has no regard for the common man unless that common man has a seven figure income).

I have to agree with "Opinionated" , but I never supported John Kerry's views anyway.

He's poison to the Democrats right now and a miracle for the Republicans. I believe he did mean to tell a joke, but botched it. The man never seems comfortable in his own skin, especially in public. His wife should've run against Bush in 2004.

Certainly! As evidenced by the 2004 election, there are people in alarming numbers who will support and defend anything that comes out of the man's mouth.
