like back in the 80's i did like players like Mats Nazlund of the Habs he was like 5'6 and 160 lbs but he was a 100 points scorer and another player like Theo Fleury very small but big heart and never gives up. these are some of the players that really had to push hard cause of their sizes. and don't bring up Fleury problems will all know.

I like the players who play clean but hard hockey. The ones who work 100% of the time and when the game is over they have left it all on the ice.

I like good goalie play. I don't know if I can pick a style really, maybe butterfly, but just a game where it's 1-0 because the goalies are stopping everything is what I enjoy. My favorite goalies have been Roy, Hasek, Broduer.

Denis Savard - Blackhawks
Derrick Smith - Flyers
Mark Howe - Flyers
All for their differing talents. Savard was an effective and exciting player to watch, Howe was fantastic with the puck, and Smith was a team player and a great checker.

Brendan Shanahan. The complete player! A power forward who will not backdown to anyone.
A smaller player who was great was Doug Gilmour! 100% heart.

Somebody said Brian Propp? Seriously? I hated that stupid hand pump he did after he scored.
I love Cam Neely/Brendan Shanahan types crossed with Pavel Bure/Alexander Ovechkin.

i like a 2-way forward or a Grinder...i like a experienced Grinder...somebody who throws hits, who is going into the corners, who can play d, who will blend it up in the event that they should, who can Play the PK besides because of the fact the Powerplay.. i might say Brandon Dubinski is my well-known 2-way/ Grinder....motives why i like his sort is he's a experienced Grinder, he can relatively post some factors, yet he's by no skill going to be precise of the league. he's sturdy for 40-50 factors a year, couple hundred hits, hundred shot blocks, some scraps, and an entire lotta heart. i like the gamers who play with their heart on their sleeve.

Cam Neely with the Bruins. He wasn't too bad. Jeremy Roenick when he was with the blackhawks. Denis Savard when he was with the Habs.

Unselfish players....
Jagr might be the most unselfish player today...
Gagne and Forsberg were skating on a two on 0 with an open net. Gagne was in front and drop-passed to Peter so he could get his hat-trick. You gotta love that.
I still, and always will, love the tough-guys which also shows another side to sacrifice and undying teamwork. Barnaby comes to mind.
As for the small-guys it has to be Martin St Louis.

I like a hockey minded player, one who can think on the ice and anticipate plays.
