I think for your eyes only....

Boy, this is a tough one, For Your Eyes Only is good, but to me, Roger Moore was too slick to play Bond, as was Pierce Brosnan, but he was a little more human, not so quick with the clever one liners.
Connery was damn good, my favorite Connery/007 movie is "You Only Live Twice". But my absolute favorite Bond movie, the one which really captured the Bond myth but kept him quite human, and had the most interesting story, was "On Her Majesty's Secret Service".

George Lazenby got the part, I think, because Connery wanted nothing to do with playing Bond who had to go undercover as a bit of an effeminate priss. Diana Rigg as Teresa is easily the most complex of Bond's females, and the only one to actually marry Bond, although the marriage was brief, to say the least. Bond's broken heart is what allowed him to remain so stoic in the face of all those future Bond beauties.

Here's a bit of Bond trivia: "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" is the only Bond film where there is no singer for the title song.

you are able to no longer have a black James Bond using fact the character is a white guy. it would require a entire reboot of the sequence to sidestep it being thoroughly uncanonical, in spite of the indisputable fact that it would now no longer be James Bond.

Any of them with Sean Connery are the top of the list, but I have to agree with most people that from Russia with love is the best
