Wal-Mart released new policy, if you are going to be late to work because of snow or your sick child/family, it will be counted against you!!! This is outrageous news and it infiriates me!!! Wal-Mart used to once be a good company to work for but in the past five years even its went down hill really bad. I am thankful that I got out about a year ago. My feelings are that they do treat their associates very wrong. Its very unfortunate because thats why customer get treated so poorly is because associates gets treated like crap by a customer and the high archy. My question is do you think they are right in the way they treat associates or wrong?

Would you agree that if they had happier associates they would have happier customers. I think the only way to have better customer service is to have happier associates. I rarely saw a happy associate unless we were on break. Its sad really...and I worked at one only 25 miles from the home office!!!

Since the new policy of having to call the 800 number to "call in sick (or whatever)" there have been fewer call ins, but I think that it's becoming horrid to work there. They are also instating a uniform policy also. Can you imagine wearing a blue polo with khaki pants? UGH! I think they treat their associates like $hit and they will because there isn't anyone to stop them from doing so.

I hate Wal-Mart! Never worked there but can't stand when I have to go there. You can just tell how they treat their employees. I mean have you ever found someone that worked there that looked happy. No!

No one ever takes the side of the business. I am not saying that everything they are doing is right, but think on their end about why they may be doing it as well. They may be having a huge problems with absenteeism or punctuality that is compromising their ability to provide service to the public.

I heard a lot of bad things about the way Walmart treats their employees, it was actually on the news over here in NY. I totally agree with you, they shouldnt treat their employees the way that they do.. its wrong and unfair.

They are in charge and are paying the bills so they have the right to do anything legal.
