Check it out on the web www.knowmenopause.com its a good site. It will happen and it is a trade-off. You can be done with the once a month thing but you'll have a daily chore of trying to stay either warm or cool. Your wardrobe will have to be adjusted. And please, this is very important. If you want to take off some weight by all means do it NOW, or it will not come off when you enter menopause. I used to lose 5 lbs. in one week, and now I can't lose 5 lbs no matter what I do. Good luck!

Do you remember when menopause started for your mother? Many women have told me this is the best indicator.
I'm ready too! My sister and I are in a race to see who can get there the fastest.

Every woman hits menopause at a different age, count your lucky stars it hasn't hit yet, it isn't always a pleasant experience and can last for years. An occasional need for sanitary supplies pales in comparison.

My God, woman, be grateful:)
I'm 44 and I've been going through premenopause for at least 2 years on and off.
Believe me, you aren't missing a thing.
Some women don't go through it at all. Lucky them. Maybe you're one of them.
It probably wouldn't hurt for you to go and see the doctor.
I know I'm moody and all that other stuff that goes along with the hormone thing, but I agree, I would NOT want to be having my period at that age either. I'm sick and tired of it NOW.
Good luck.

Well, aren't YOU the lucky one! I've never heard anyone look forward to meno! Lol. But I understand when you say "ready for this to be over". If it'll make you feel better, ask your gyno. I've heard some women who don't go into full blown meno til between ages 55 - 60.
