there was a meeting with the president that alerted him and his staff that it was going to be a disaster level event, and that they werent going to be able to handle it, they needed federal assistance. this is on video tape, you can find it on the net i'm sure, i saw it on the news, he said "we'll do everything in our power to make sure you're ok".
then, when it happened, there wasnt any additional assistance, and he was nowhere to be found. when he was finally questioned as to what happened, and this is on tape as well, he said "we didnt know it was going to be that bad".
so, he's either lying, or completely incompetent. take your pick. they dont blame him for the hurricane itself, they blame him for how his cabinet handled it (or more appropriately, DIDNT handle it) when the people of his nation needed him.
also, a similar occurance happened recently, Condi Rice denied remembering a pre 9/11 meeting that alerted her to a terrorist plot on american soil of huge magnitude. however, the document was public record, and she signed it at the meeting, proving she was there. so, she is either lying, or didnt bother to pay attention.
and call me crazy, but if i was in charge, and there was a huge disaster coming, i wouldnt bother waiting for a request for help, i'd have just sent it and said "thanks for paying your taxes".

Democrats don't blame Bush for causing Katrina, only for the chaos that followed. The truth is, the Federal government is required to wait for a request from the state before they step in. That means, FEMA had to wait for Louisiana's governor to ask for help before they could give it. The governor was too busy trying to blame the mayor of New Orleans to ask for help, so the people of New Orleans suffered far more than they should have. Read Louisiana history...politicians in Louisiana have long ignored their constituents in order to gain more power. And the residents of that part of New Orleans have been taught and conditioned to believe that the government is responsible for them, and their "job" is to wait for someone to take care of them. The government perpetuates this belief in order to remain in power. It's been going on for years.

No merely grew to become into it no longer the fault of Bush however the hot Orleans problems weren't led to by potential of Katrina rapidly, Katrina grew to become into no longer a head on hit for NO. What led to the misery grew to become right into a determination made to construct the levee greater low fee, and not as stable as mandatory by using fact it wasn't 'quite-priced'. Its humorous that as quickly as you hint it returned it does come all the way down to judgements made, and not the climate. The Governor of Louisiana did no longer do a competent job, yet he specific had no help in any respect from DC.

Bush has received the blame for everything, since he took the power away from the democrats... the hatred knows no bounds.
His failure to keep that power is what the terrorists are hoping for. The dems to recover that power.. knowing full well what the dems have in mind to do, as soon as that power is back with them. Is a sad state of affairs when one party in our country actually wants to lose this war. Just because of the hatred they have allowed to distort their thinking.

The Democrats will blame anything on Bush if they think it will benifit them.
It is my oppinion that what happened to those who stayed even after they were told to leave is nobody's fault but their own!

It was declared a national disaster. No one says he caused it. They say that it wasn't handled very well.
