Haven't seen the movie yet, but actually heard a thumbs down review for it this morning. Does seem funny, in the South Park way, but when they did the interview with the actor I thought he was trying to do an Italian accent. He didin't sound like he was from Kazakhstan. Anyway, I like satire, so I'll go check it out.
I think it's one of those movies that people will either love or hate, or they will start out liking it and then start to get annoyed by it.

He is sure getting a lot of pre-release media hype.
But then again, so did Snakes on a Plane.
The only difference is that Snakes on a Plane was funny.

I think I liked Borat better in the 1980's, when he was called Yakov Smirnoff.
Except that Borat somehow has Father Guido Sarducci's accent.

Ali G wasn't my style of humor, but as he mocked mostly celebrities I will give him credit, but by going "Andy Kaufman" on the unsuspecting public, and getting everyone to sign the releases by telling them its was for the fake TV show in his home country is kinda mean. Also if he'd stop doing all the press for the film in character and explain what he was trying to do and why he felt the need to do it in this way I might give it a shot, but as it stands I have no intention of seeing Borat, and hope it does worse that SoaP and the crew at G4 will shut up and stop force feeding him to us.

Yeah It actually is! I'm so surprised coz I thought the critcs were gonna bash on it but the average critique was an A-
"As the man from Kazakhstan likes to say: Great success!" -from the Chicago Tribune. geeze I'm gonna go watch it now :] I love the Ali G show and now I can't wait to see this movie.

He shouldn't have used Kazakhstan to make fun of b/c now their gov't is getting all annoyed and I can see why. He just should've made up a country to avoid humiliating a naiton.....

I don't understand how it is getting good reviews. It is just a a drawn out 90 minute movie based on a character seen in 3-4 minute sketches. Terrible acting, plot, and waste of time.

I just watched it few hours ago, he is CRAZY, but his serial of Borat in Ali G Show is a lot better, this is kind a copy of that with some great new stuff!!!!! And he is insulting a lot of other races, what is not really my kind of fun, but overall, he is hilarious!!!!!!!!
