Someone has abandoned a pet rabbit and the bleeding heart that I am, I am going to take it to the local animal shelter; I do not want to set a trap as I will most likely end up catching a raccoon. Is there any other way?

If I were you, I'd leave it to the local shelter.... call them, report an abondoned rabbit, and they should come and get it. That way, if a raccoon is accidently caught, it will be up to them to release it. They have the training.

Try laying out some carrots, seeds, and lettuce where it hangs out.
But if i were you, since you seem to care about it, adopt it and get some tags! This rabbit could use a friend!

the old box and string trick.knowing that rabbits usually come out when the sun is setting and start to graze. where do you see this bunny, is it every day? thats where to put the trap.
