If it's a hazardous place for kids contact your supervisor. If not look at the situation: Is this a once and a while thing? If so, enjoy the kids, the work will still be there after they have left. If it has developed into a habit do not confront the individual, contact your supervisor or manager and present the situation to her/him.
Even though companies press for production/performance they also want their people to invest in their families. A disgruntled employee is not as productive as a content employee, typically.
Someday you may need the same situation or a similar one.
Enjoy life and all it has to offer. If not then you may want to step back because we plan on living life to the fullest.

depends on what kind of job you have and how old the kids are. It sounds like a good time to make it a short day and go home early. Don't you feel a headache coming on? A cold? Diarrhea? maybe talk to your supv, now or at a later date, let em know what the issue is.. .there may extenuating circumstances to as to why the kids had to be brought to work... but sometimes its just best if mom (or dad) stays home.

Duct tape is a possibility. If you can get them to chew on something, that might help as well.
The key is to keep their mouths busy, or to shut their mouths.
Duct tape would be better than sewing their mouths shut or using a stapler, because the duct tape can be removed.
You might also try earplugs in your ears.

Are children allowed at your work place? If not, then bring it up to her. If they are, there should be a designated area for them to play. Why don't you approach your boss to set up a special area for children? He/she will be impressed with your ability to see a potential problem and come up with a suitable solution.

Speak to her, nicely about the distraction. Or maybe offer some coloring books or something to help keep them quiet. If the problem continues & she is not cooperative, maybe you should speak to your boss about it & let them talk to her.

Well if it's only for one day then just deal with it. It'll be over soon.
