there are two types of IUD's which are really effective and much better than the IUD's of the 80's. there is the nuvoring (ring inserted in the vagina for 3 weeks a month), there is also the female condom (probably suck if you think normal ones are), there is also the diaphragm or the cervical cap, sterilization for either the man or the women, their is also natural family planning (taking temp, checking mucus, and abstaining during fertile times), and something different and not available or approved by the FDA but approved in France and available over the web is something called oves here is there sight... http://www.oves.com/english/index.htm hope you can find something to work for you. oh and there is the one month shot called lunnelle...if i think of anything else i'll be back to add that too.

I've had it well over a year now and it's still not normal all the time. It took about 6/7 months for it to become a bit more normal, but I often have breaks of a few months then i'll be on my period for about 3 weeks straight. This isn't the most normal behaviour so i'm still happy with it most of the time. Everyone's different though and if you are not happy you can take the pill with the implant to regulize periods :)

The only things I can suggest is a Cap or Ring which are a bit fiddly and worse than a condom! or the patch which I'm told is great!
Its too short notice to get a coil fitted I think! I have serious concerns with how they work though but It's personal choice!

Try asking at a family planning clinic or go back to the GP ASAP!

You may have to use the dreaded condom and then seek advice from your GP when you come back!

GOOD LUCK and ENJOY your Trip!

I am using Mirena and it is wonderful! For the first month it is kind of a nucence but after that your periods are lighter and no cramps and you do not have to worry about things, like condoms, getting in your way. After 6-9 months your period can go away. How nice is that?? It lasts for 5 years but they can take it out very easily when you are ready to get pregnant again. Girl it is GREAT and you can just forget about it.

Talk to you Dr about it. I only paid my co-pay for it and that was all.
Good luck! : )

Right.

Pills are out.... since you don't like 'em... but they're generally pretty effective.

Condoms are also effective, except when they rip... and I've had that happen twice (mostly because my parts were a bit too big for them). I hate them to hell and back too, but they're a necessary evil sometimes. Nothing much you can do about that.

Aside from that.... theres the coil that stops the egg implanting in the wall of the womb and growing.....
..... There is the weird "lady-condom" thing I forget the name of.... but thats just weird and not entirely something I'd trust to stay in place.

Theres the morning-after pill.... but thats typically an emergency thing only. It tends to be reliable.... but... y'know.... its a dodgy thing to toy with.

You COULD get your tubes snipped / tied / whatever they do to fallopians these days... which tends to be permanent / difficult to reverse.... but rest assured you'll never have another kid again no matter how much you do it.

And then of course.... you could just risk it.... get pregnant.... and have lovely LOVELY abortions.... Probably one of the most uncomfortable things you'd have to go through with.... but on the bonus side you get to horrify a lot of religious idiots... and thats SO worth it.
If you cannot afford to get an abortion and still want out.... there is the most horrific method of all.... Horrific for you that is....

.... And that is to deliberately stress yourself out (with or without drugs) so much that you have a miscarriage....
Its not exactly reliable, nor pleasant... but its better than ending up with another screaming child leeching off you like a parasite for the next 20 years of your life.

Enjoy.

The mirena coil, but its gross having it put in while u have your period!!! I now have the implant which is an inch long small bar put just under the skin and is in there for 3 yrs before being changed. Family planning clinic has loads of leaflets on the different contraception available.

The testicles are outside the main body cavity so their contents are at a slightly lower temperature than the core temperature of the body. The Romans knew all about this and used the following method of contraception. The male dangled his testicles in very very hot water and apparently this did the trick. It answers those females who moan that its always the woman who takes responsibility for contraception and the male gets loads of brownie points as spin off.

. . . you're obviously finding it difficult to communicate using the English language -

perhaps if someone explained to you that sucking a condom and conceiving your first child, isn't really the idea of contraception in practice -

irrespective of the flavour or colour of the condom -

perhaps super-glue from the knees upwards? . . .

If you ain't just having sex with one partner, then it's condoms, condoms or condoms I'm afraid.

But if you and your other half are nice and clear of infections, then there's the cap, the coil, the diaphragm... all good ole-fashioned contraceptives with no chemicals in them!
