You PUT music on your iPod by connecting it to your PC or Mac with the provided USB cable. It is sometimes necessary to have iTunes open, so go ahead and open it. Also, be sure that you have music in iTunes to transfer your music over. Don't have iTunes? Get it here: http://www.apple.com/itunes
