The guy was looking for his wife, but had short term memory loss and tatooed images on hs body to remind him.
I've always wanted to see it, since I heard of it, but have no idea who was in it or what it was called.

It is MOMENTO, with Guy Pearson.

Christopher Nolan's Memento was one of the most unique—and most notorious—films of 2001. Some people loved it, others hated it, but the majority were awed by the swirling sense of confusion that it engendered, which cleverly swept the audience into the world of Leonard (Guy Pearce), a Los Angeles man made desperate by tragedy and severe short-term memory loss.

Make sure you watch the film in it original format - it was re-edited a few years ago and have been told it destroyed to whole point of the film. Great film.

It's called Memento, has Guy Pearce, Joe Pantoliano, and Carrie Anne Moss in it, was directed by Christopher Nolan of Batman Begins fame, good film, a tad messed up though. They show it backwards as well so you see the end first, which makes it even harder to work out whodunnit.

Memento is a neo-noir/psychological thriller written and directed by Christopher Nolan, based on his brother Jonathan's short story "Memento Mori." It stars Guy Pearce, Carrie-Anne Moss, and Joe Pantoliano. The film was released in 2000 to widespread critical acclaim, and was nominated for Academy Awards for Original Screenplay and Editing, and a Golden Globe Award for Best Screenplay.

Overview
Memento follows Leonard (Guy Pearce), whose head trauma has given him anterograde amnesia, or "anterograde memory dysfunction". While able to remember everything up to the moment of the injury, Leonard is unable to form new long-term memories, or retain a memory of recent happenings. He continually meets people over and over again, unable to determine whether he knows them already or is meeting them for the first time. To remember events, people and what he has set out to do, Leonard develops a system using Polaroid photographs, notes, and tattoos — especially clues that pertain to the identity of one of the men who raped and murdered his wife, and the assailant who struck the blow that caused Leonard's condition when he stumbled in on the crime.

The film explores themes of memory, identity, time, revenge, reality and deception, particularly including self-deception. It also examines grief and the role of memory in recovering from a loss, and the manner in which people choose and justify their lives.

The score was composed by David Julyan.

The movie is called Momento. It's really good- but can be hard to follow because it goes in reverse order- the beging of the movie is really the ending of the story. I guess they did that because of the guys memory loss. But it's really interesting.

sounds like Memento starring Guy Pearce of Neighbours fame. He's hunting for the man he thinks killed his wife.
