Approx 18 inches long on a woman in America and quite frankly they are disgusting.

Shridhar Chillal holds the world record for the longest fingernails. They haven't been cut since 1958, and in 2005 they measured 7.21 metres (about 150 cm per nail).

Shridhar Chillal from Pune, near Bombay, has been a permanent fixture in the Guinness Book of World Records for the last 20 years for having the world's longest nails. Each more than three feet long, they sprout like snakes from a misshapen left hand, which is permanently disfigured from the extra weight that Chillal, now 64, has been carrying around.

There was this Indian man that was featured in the Guiness Book of World Records and he had damn LONG fingernails! I don't know what his name is, but his nails were soooooo damn long, and they eventually started growing veins in them and became an extension of his body. He came on the TV show for Guiness and said that his wife helps him clean his nails and they showed him put his nails in the bath tub and she washed them with a bucket I believe. It was distgusting and I hope I never come across this man in my life. EVER!

A disgusting 36inches or so.. Some woman (freak) was interviewed on the Sharon Osbourne show a few weeks ago and she had to rest her nails on a coffee table to keep them off the floor. Sharon O asked if she could feel them and I was nearly sick just looking.

Not sure about the exact length, but this woman was on This Morning a few weeks ago and she hasn't cut her nails since 1979, they were seriously gross, when she sits on a chair her nails would be touching the ground.

I saw a woman in a magazine not sure how long but they were twisted and curly and she stood miles away from the sink to try and wash up!! They were absolutely disgusting!! How would you pick your nose with nails like that!!!

well i saw in the world record book that this old lady had real long ones that were green and curled and i think it said about 16in.

too long,i think the americanwoman had hers cut shorter,some magazine paid her a sum of money to do that.
