If that's the case, than does this mean millions of parents deserve to die? Should we make a Holocaust for them all?

Keep in mind I'm against the death penalty, I'm just interested in what you guys think (my name is Morbid Thoughts, after all ;))

I think the person who kills a strangers child is worse. They actually KILLED someone. An abusive parent may not have bad intentions with their children they just may not have the mental capacity to properly nuture them . Depending on the severity of abuse the child still has a chance at life.

One persons abuse is another persons discipline. I dont think the government has much right to say where the line is. I seen one guy get bitched at by an old lady at a wal-mart because he wouldnt pick up his crying kid. The kid wanted something and he wouldnt give it to him. That lady snaped at the guy like he had just cut the kids hand off.
I think logical limits have to be set (like actually cutting the kids hands off) and i would support extreemly harsh penalities for hurting children be it your own or someone elses. Children are off limits for melevolent violence but they must be disciplined and molded into a decent person. Some of these kids i see runing around really need a beating. The government cant interfere unless the actions taken are extreeme. The true abuse cases are far and few between but are so blaringly evil that no one would argue for light punishment.

An abusive parent is almost like a rapist because the victim will have to live with it for the rest of his or her life. Perhaps, putting them all to death is not a very good idea because a lot of parents will have to die for ignorance. However, a few of them do have to die just to make an example of what will happen to a parent if he or she abuses his or her children.

You can't compare apples to cars.
Killing someone is quite a bit different then abuse in any stretch of the imagination.

that's a toughy.....if the abused child is in physical pain and utter misery then the crime is of the same nature..the dead child's abuse was less time yet the suffering was until death
