I have hundreds of silver nickles-dimes-quarters
and halves.How do u figure the value?? Is it
3 to 1, 4 to 1 or what.. I dont collect them so I thought I should just sell them.(got them when my brother passed away last month).

I believe it is 8x face, but no one will give you that. Dealers are giving 7.3% or so. for 90% silver and 2.9% for the 40% silver clad coins. The only nickels with silver in them are the War nickels 1942-1945, they have 35% silver. I don't have a dealer figure for the nickels, maybe some one else out there can help.

Hey! Coin collector there.

In today's market, they're worth about $12 an ounce - so about 8x or so the face value.

Bullion value is one thing, value as a coin is another. Take them to a coin dealer to see what they're worth.
