im trying to learn tennis by next year. could someone tell me the rules of tennis and explain the scoring without giving me a website?

just reading the rules and scoring of the game will not help cos the scoring is pretty confusing for a total outsider to tennis.i personally suggest that before u start playing,watch the tennis matches on television.they teach u more than any book or website can provide.once u start watching matches,u will start understanding the scoring and rules urself, and in a fun and interesting way.

Mario tennis. My brother, who's 9, learned the scoring and rules of tennis just by playing tennis video games. Not only are they fun, but I can guarentee that you'll know all the rules pretty quickly. Also, most national/provincial/state/regional tennis associations hand out rule books to players. These rule books cover EVERY rule in tennis. Tennis magazine has a Q&A section about advanced rules too.

Ok, here we go: you can play single or double. Let say you serve first, the score goes: 15, 30, 40, game. (if you both have 40 you need 2 points to win, it's called advantage) the first one to get 6 winning games wins the set. If you are a girl you need 2 sets to win the match, 3 if you are a boy. ( so a total of 5 sets max. if you are a boy). Ok there are a lot more things to explain, I don't know why you don't want a website, it would be more clear! This is just the very basic!

And start having tennis lessons and then your coach can tell you
