you can't just give up paternity rights ... he needs to pay his child support .. he made this baby he needs to pay for the baby ... even if he doesn't see your son he needs to take care of him.
I would get in touch with a lawyer either through legal aid or child advocacy rights .. I don't think he has much choice otherwise a lot of guys would do this.

It looks like to me the kid is your responsibility. You really pushed him over the edge when you asked him to let you change the kids last name. You have the kid why should you have the exes money too? The other option is to tell the ex to put the support payments in a fund for the child, and the child can access the account when he is 21. How does that set with you? By the way let the kid keep the name, at this time it is the only thing he has to link himself to his father. Never talk bad to your son about his father. Hopefully when the boy becomes 21 he can link up with his dad. It may be possible since then you will be out of the picture legally.

He is still that childs father if he likes or not I know how mad you might be at the whole situation about your son having his father's last name even though his father doesnt want to pay child support but he needs to keep paying for his child he cant just make a baby and get away with not giving you or your son anything.

No one can give up paternity rights. Child support is determined by the law in your state. Usually the parent who provides the child’s primary home receives childsupport from the other parent. The amount depends on the relative financial circumstances of the parents, the amount of time the child spends with each parent, the number of children each parent has from other relationships, and other factors. The amount and duration of child support is fixed by statute and the trial judge has very little discretion to vary from the statutory child support guidelines which have been fixed by the state legislature.
Child support is payable until the child reaches 18 years; after that child support continues if the child is still in high school until he or she graduates, quits, or reaches 19 years of age.
You can petition court that you want to change name if you have reasons to do so.

Do i think of they'd desire to have paternity rights? NO. This new child is plenty greater desirable of together with his adoptive relatives. I wish that became the 1st time this got here approximately in Nebraska. yet its no longer. I particularly wish greater desirable than the refuge regulation is replaced next legislative term. i understand of two different circumstances in Nebraska the place the 'fathers" have been given paternity rights. One case the 'father' (40 six), tried to get custody of his 12 year previous daughter who became born whilst her mom became 12. He hadn't had something to do with the youngster till she have been given the proper age! the youngster became the manufactured from a gang rape the daddy, his nephew, and his brother (the stepfather) have been the superb men in touch.

Why would you even want him in your sons life? He really seems like a jerk. I know he has responsibilities, but why not let him give up his rights and find someone who is going to love you and your son the way you and your child deserve.

You must make him PAY as that is his responsibilty to his son.. Things are to expensive in this day in age, for you to try doing it on his own.. However if the Judge decides that he can sign over his parental rights then there will be nothing that you can do.. but I would fight the issue but do not include your son into it as he is the child and the get affected by it more than people think as for his name changing what do you mean? You want to change his name to your ex last name, or do oyu want to change his name to your last name? If you want to change it to your last name, all the more power to ya and you should be able to as his mother.. however if you want to change it to his last name I wouldn't do that, as to the fact that your ex doesn't even want to pay for his child and wants to give up rights.. we need a little more information on the situatoin for me to be able to answer this in any more detail.

I say turn him in to the authorities. He made his son too so he is responsible. Your son did not ask to be born. He needs to be taken care of. I don't know what state you are in but in Missouri you go to jail for not paying. Now if you are getting married and your new husband wants to adopt your son then I say go for it. In that situation it is better for your little guy to be with someone who wants him as suppose to someone who could care less. Good Luck!

Make the jerk take care of his responsibilities. He wanted to lay in the bed an make the baby with you. Now he needs to own up and try to act like he's a real man. Don't let him off that easy. Good Luck!

He made that child, and he should have to take care of his responsibilities. You need to contact your local child advocate office and have his wages garnished. This man is a creep, and he should PAY.
