Here’s an explanation from theoretical physicist Michio Kaku:
“Think of an ant walking on the surface of an expanding bubble. Since the ant can only see in two dimensions, asking where the original bubble came from, and where it is expanding, makes no sense to it. But to us, the answer to both these questions is obvious: the third dimension. Now imagine we are the ants, on the surface of our expanding universe or bubble. Then it is clear now that the universe is expanding in hyperspace, and that the original Big Bang took place in hyperspace. If we cannot visualize hyperspace, it is only because we spend our time in the third dimension.”
Some scientists believe the universe both expands then contracts. These cycles continues through out existents. They also like to compare this theory to ancient cultures for example Mayan and Egyptians and how their calendars are all based in cycles (beginning, an end and then a rebirth)

The evolutionists think yes over billions of years before it shrinks and will contract into nothing.
Judeo-Christians believe the universe was created at once, never to expand or contract.

Yes. We can tell by the way that the color of light from distant stars and galaxies is changed that they are moving away from us. Some are moving toward us, but on the average, everything is moving away from us. We know what colors of light stars give off because each element or compound is only capable of giving off certain colors of light. We can look at a star close to us and see what specific colors are given off. The spectrum of the star can be broken into distinct color lines by passing it through a prism. the color lines make something like a bar code. When we look at a very distant star, the color lines make a similar bar code, except that each line has moved closer to the red end of the spectrum. This indicates that the star is moving away from us and stretching out the wave lengths of the light we are seeing.

Yes the Universe is expanding every second of your life. But eventually it will come back destroying everything in it's path.

We assume it is expanding due to the observed redshift of the objects we observe outside of our local group of galaxies.

yes, its evident because of red shift. and it is expanding at an increasing rate, which i have no idea how that is happening, but thats what i'm told.

Hi. I hope so. If it is not then gravity will cause all the galaxies to come together in a huge collision.
