No; at least, rarely.

This is because I learned to mix with others, to recognise that many people in that room feel out of place, or are shy, but that this can be overcome by taking an interest in others, asking questions, introducing people to each other, paying compliments, offering to get people drinks etc.

I made a decision to not be shy many years ago, and now I look down on shy people, because usually they are really just self centered snobs.

Shyness is egotism out if it's depth; it's an inverted form of arrogance.

Learn not to be shy: you'll be happier and so will those around you.

I feel that way sometimes when I go with my boyfriend to his buddies house gatherings. A lot of his friends does drugs, and I hate being around that stuff. Most of the time, I just sit there not saying anything while his buddies gets coked up and be obnoxious. Or i'll just chill outside and call one of my friends to keep me company on the phone. My boyfriend doesn't do drugs anymore, but his buddies are his childhoods friends he grew up with and sadly, they still do drugs.
