Let's just cut to the chase: you are a drug addict whose life has become unmanageable due to your addiction; you went thru either rehab or NA and after a brief period of sobriety are now using again. Your very question points to relapse, since you are mincing words and tap-dancing around the fact that you have used and want to use again, soon. Justifying their addiction is the cornerstone of any good junkie! I can hear your craving in oyur typed words.
Get back in the program now! I suggest inpatient rehab or a relapse program if you can. Best of luck.

I hope I understand your question correctly?

A slip is when your not trying to use, but you have a relapse. As long as you maintain a goal to continue to be clean then it's only a slip. If your asking your self this question about how many slips it takes to equal an addiction, it's more probable that you are an addict.

Using is the same thing as a "slip" People also call it a relapse. Your time of being clean is reset each time you use. If you feel like it is affecting your life in a negative way and you can't stop by yourself then it is an addiction. Whether you use once or a million times.

There is no difference between a "slip" and "using". A conscious decision has to be made before either will occur. The amount of "slips" or "using" is irrelavent, there are three inevitable results; JAILS, INSTITUTIONS, AND DEATH!
