Is Daddy going to be wagging his penis around in front of the kids? Little boys won't notice anyway, and I'd think he'd want to keep it in his pants around his adolescent sons, so what's the point? Isn't it kind of sick to have the kids examining Daddy's equipment?

Seems a good chance to explain that people are not all the same if a young boy bathes with his father. But a man's massive (to a little boy) member is so different from a toddler's equipment that I'd think the kid would not pay much attention to the foreskin when there are so many other differences to focus on. By the time the questions get pointed enough to be embarrassing the child should have been bathing alone for some years!

And if the son happens to see his father naked when he's old enough to be interested, it seems it would be enough to explain that back in the 20th Century when father was born, people believed it was necessary, but now we know better.

And it's no longer the case that the other boys at school are likely to be cut - the circumcision rate is under 50% and falling fast. Soon it will be the cut boys who are "different."

Circumcision is sexual assault. No child male or female should be circumcised. In discussing looks, a childs penis looks nothing like an adults penis whether circ'd or not. There is no reason to circ.

To be honest I have heard this excuse used and it is usually by couples that are very uncomfortable discussing anything that has to do with sex and sex organs. It is a very poor excuse but it is used. I personally don't see the point to circumcising and the people who use the excuse about infections are just plain lazy. It's really not that hard to teach a child to clean themselves properly girls have to be taught to clean properly why should a boy be any different?

I don't agree with circumcision. It use to be that doctors wanted it done because they thought it would reduce the chance of cancer and other things. When my son was born in 83 the doctor said they were not as big on recommending it because they found out that it did not matter. All you have to do is teach them the proper hygeine when they are not circumcised.

Well I don't think that Mother's get their sons circumcised so they look like Daddy. It's a choice. Usually made based on false information but it's a choice.
I don't agree with circumcision, but to each their own.

Added Note: If you are trying to prove a point and not ask a question... then go to a FORUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don’t think its about looking like the father. Its more social society, and health. Boys will make fun of boys. Your son my not want to shower after gym because he’s different. Also its more hygienic. If he doesn’t shower bacteria can grow under the foreskin. This skin needs to be pulled back and cleaned soon after physical activity. I didn’t want to get my sons done but I really didn’t want him to have other problems in the future.

the men in my house are not circumcised...but our son is 3.5 and he and daddy shower/bath together at times....his old enough to notice something different.....he definately see the difference between he and me and also his 21month old sister when her nappy is getting changed....i suppose those that are circumcised prefer for their sons to be the same so they dont feel or look any different and it would probably help with all the why questionss the son would ask....

LOL That's funny. Yeah, I guess the only time they'll really see it is when they potty-train and daddy does a demonstration. It's silly.

What I want to know is why it is so widely done in America, but it is not even asked in Europe. Has anybody else noticed that it just seems to be America and Third World countries where it is a popular trend?

They shouldn't be. All daddy has to tell his son is that mommy and daddy didn't cut the tip of your penis off!

Circumcision is genital mutilation.
