My computer frequently locks up when coming out of screen saver (blank screen) or sleep mode. Windows XP pro.
any ideas?

Who set up your computer? If you did, then you would remember your settings.
Do you have virus check and firewall?
If you leave your computer on for more than a few minutes, the self protection will kick in.
If you do not know how to reset the display and the security settings of your computer yourself, ask whoever set it up for you or a knowledgeable friend to do it the way you want.

dont use sleep mode or hibernate not all computers like them i would turn off all messengers from starting on startup
then go start,all programs,startup and delete everything in the file
