It's true, the perception of the US in general has radically change (for the worst) since Bush has been president, his foreign policy and relations with other countries are really poor. Most people in Europe use to admire the US, not anymore.. I find it very sad and personally can't wait for him to be gone so that whoever takes his place can try to restore the diplomatic mess he created...

Just in case you don't keep up with recent news events (as is evidenced by your comments), the terrorists are active world wide and have been at war with the US since the early 80's. Perhaps if we got out of Iraq, you would rather have the fighting taking place in this country... exactly what would take place.. Think of the fatalities that would become evident then? They are intent on eliminating the US, just as they are doing in more than 30 other countries around the world at this present time.
Anyone thinking (as you describe) is totally absent of any knowledge of the present condition of the world.. they are basically hiding from reality... The latest news mentions Germany and France are now under the gun. Spain lost it a couple years ago. The western countries are all in the bulls eye of the target.

Like Americans really care what anyone in Continental Europe thinks about our foreign policy. Great Britain and the USA seem to be the only ones who want to address the terrible crimes that are being committed by Islamic Extremists in the name of their religion while the rest of the "well informed" Europeans try to ignore the problems of terrorism, since they no longer have any military muscle to deal with it. Seems like the lack of understanding is on the European side as their media is so anti-American, that they don't understand that it is also their interests that are being protected, such as a long-term peaceful democratic world. I believe most of the Europeans are rooting for the Terrorists to win because they are jealous of American power, both economic and military. I just wonder if they will like the world much when their inactions contribute to the increasing likelyhood of terrorism in their own countries. Islamic terrorists have no respect for anyone who doesn't share their ignorant beliefs, and with the proliferation of nuclear and other technologies of the 21st century, a single terrorist may be able to kill 6 to 8 million people in one stroke. I'm not a big fan of the war in Iraq (Why should we be sacrificing our fine American and British young men in a justifiable war, halfway around the world, that none of our allies has the stomach to help us win?), but Saddam Hussein was a terrible dictator and was responsible for the deaths of many of his own people. He also supported suicide bombers families monetarily, thereby sponsoring terror. Also, he really did use chemical weapons on the Kurds, so why shouldn't we have believed that he had them? All of this and Bush is the one who is being villified. You people should wake up and decide what the real causes are for this war (It's not oil, which we all need, but these issues are much bigger than that) and what kind of world you really want to live in, or maybe someday you'll be languishing under a villian similar to Saddam Hussein and wondering who will be nice enough to liberate you from the yoke of oppression. I resent your opinions because you do nothing to help any cause in this world, and as a matter of fact, historically, Europeans have helped to create many of the problems that now need to be dealt with, including the random selection of the borders of the current Iraq, setting up a Civil War that is brewing. Not the best authored answer, but this is what I, as an American who loves my great country, believe. If we don't do something now, our beautiful planet that we share may become a wasteland and this will spell the end of the human race. Is this what you want? It's the civilized vs the barbarians. Whose side are you on? Most Americans think your European ideas are ignorant and short-sighted, do you care what we think? I don't think so, so why should we care about what you think? Our only true friends are Great Britain, Australia, and maybe Israel unless someone else needs our help. Otherwise you wouldn't care if we all rolled over and died, because it wouldn't be your problem. You only care about your own infantile interests. I'm sure that most of you would rather save a tree than any American life, while it's our job to save your sorry asses time after time.

I think America needs a weak President to please the hypocrites. Damn if you do damn if you don't. America needs to please themselves not the other country, some country doesn't know what's it like being terrorise because they are in their beach front yard having a croissant and a nice cup of brewed coffee. Funny how people forget, when 9/11 occur everybody says they're for America then later on their tail is subdued.

No. It's just shown how many people supports the other side. If Bush doesn't make actions people will start blaming him like they do with Bill Clinton not doing enough with terrorism during his (Clinton's) presidency.
